LEARN THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO CREATE BEAUTIFUL DECORATIONS

With constant demand for classes and behind the scenes access of Kelly Ann's trademark style of decorating, the opening of Kelly Ann's Cake Academy is set to be the Northeast Premier State of the Art Teaching and Cake Decorating Facility.

 

The professional teaching studio is fully equipped with all decorating tools and baking equipment for the extensive range of classes. Ensuring each student has the front row seat, the class room has been fitted with an up close and high definition quality camera focusing on the instructors table and being played on the television screens around the room.

 

All classes will have a range of students from 4-8 depending on the class and work space required for each project. All levels of abilities can be met within all classes with this intimate and opening setting. Requests for additional classes are always welcome.

 

Conveniently located off the A690 between the A1 Durham and A19 Sunderland, it offers ease of access from all major roads and bus routes.

1.   TWO DAY WEDDING CAKE - IT'S A WRAP - A WHITE CHOCOLATE FABRIC WRAP

10am - 5pm both days

2nd & 3rd February 2016 (Tues & Wed)   /   7th & 8th March 2016 (Mon & Tues)   /   10th & 11th May 2016 (Tues & Wed)

 

In this two day course you will learn to:

Day One: Let the fun begin...

- make the white chocolate sugar paste needed to decorate your three tier sponge wedding cake with a Kelly Ann's trademark fabric wrap finish.

- cover, and properly stack three tiers of sponge

- explore different decorating techniques to personalise your design from traditional to gothic

- start an artist sketch of your own personal cake design and begin to make the all the pieces

Day two: See your design come to life

- Wrap and frill your cake

- Detail, paint, pipe and decorate all the pieces

- Final assembly and unveiling of your masterpiece! Now just to take home and enjoy with your family and friends.

 

All materials and equipment required are provided. Tea, Coffee and Soft Drinks are available throughout the course and lunch is provided on both days. When booking, please advise of any allergies or intolerences and dietry requirements. Please be advised we will take all care with any nut allergies, however we do not run a nut free environment.

 

Skill level: INTERMEDIATE - but never underestimate yourself or ability, with the intimate class size all levels will be catered too.

In this one day course you will learn to:

- create your very own rose garden repertoire with numerous flower moulding techniques

- Large Petal Paste Roses

- Vintage Curled Edge Roses

- Sugar paste hand rolles roses

- By the end of the day, you will use your rose creations to decorate a 6" cake to take home and share with your family and friends.

 

All materials and equipment required are provided. Tea, Coffee and Soft Drinks are available throughout the course and lunch is provided. When booking, please advise of any allergies or intolerences and dietry requirements. Please be advised we will take all care with any nut allergies, however we do not run a nut free environment.

 

Skill level: BEGINNER TO INTERMEDIATE - but never underestimate yourself or ability, with the intimate class size all levels will be catered too.

2.   A ROSE IS A ROSE IS A ROSE - ONE DAY FLOWER COURSE

23rd February 2016 (Tuesday)   /   22nd March 2016 (Tuesday)   /   26th April 2016 (Tuesday)

 

In this one day course you will learn to:

- decorate cakes and all manner of sweet creations with royal icing and buttercream piping techniques

- make royal icing to the right consistency to decorate using various piping nozzels

- make your own piping bags for those delicate designs and also readymade bags for larger patterns

- learn to Pipe lines, boarders, shapes and messages on practice boards

 

- By the end of the day, you will use your rose creations to decorate a 6" cake to take home and share with your family and friends.

 

All materials and equipment required are provided. Tea, Coffee and Soft Drinks are available throughout the course and lunch is provided. When booking, please advise of any allergies or intolerences and dietry requirements. Please be advised we will take all care with any nut allergies, however we do not run a nut free environment.

 

Skill level: BEGINNER TO INTERMEDIATE - but never underestimate yourself or ability, with the intimate class size all levels will be catered too.  This class is taught by BOTH a right handed and left handed instructor. There is no right way or wrong way to pipe - just different ways.
